In many of the baby-books, magazines and online articles I've read, they often suggest laying on your left side for various things (nausea, when sleeping, etc.), and to put a pillow between your legs.
I naturally often sleep on my left side. And, usually hug a pillow while I'm at it.
Although many of them suggest this, they never say why?
So anybody? Why the left side, and not the right? What's going on over there that the left side is preferred?!

I read somewhere that it is because if you lay on your right side, the pressure of the baby on the artery that supplies the brain with oxygenated blood can become depressed, thus causing a whole host of issues. Not sure how true it is though!!
